Our harvest tour in Tuscany takes you through some of the most magnificent wine territory in Tuscany. There are dozens of different varieties of Tuscan wines you will sample during the course of the tour including the Super Tuscan, Brunello and Nobile varieties. The tour starts and ends in Florence and includes accommodations in delightful, superior four star hotels throughout in addition to dozens of wine tastings in Florence, Chianti, and Val D'Orcia which we set up for you in advance.
The first three nights of the tour are spent in Florence where you will stay right in the historical center which is quite literally an open air museum filled with many famous sculptures by Michelangelo and countless other Florentine masters. In Florence you can choose to visit the Accademmia or Uffizi galleries, the Boboli gardens, Santa Croce and Giotto's famous bell tower.
In Florence you will pick up your rental car at a location very close to your hotel, and you will drive out of Florence into Chianti where you will venture towards Greve in Chianti en-route to Castellina in Chianti where you will spend the next three nights at the spectacular Villa Casalecchi.
En-route you will stop at the Fattoria Montagliari where you will get a full tour of their winery and sample their balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Vinsanto and many other delicacies this family-run farm is known for. Once you check in at the hotel you can decide to return if you so choose for a delicious dinner or venture into the town of Castellina in Chianti which has some of the very best Tuscan restaurants in the region.
After three spectacular days in the Chianti region with fantastic winery visits and taking in the Chianti hamlets like San Gimignano, Radda in Chianti and Montereggioni, you will make your way into Southern Tuscany and experience what we believe is one of the most beautiful regions in all of Italy, Val D'Orcia where you will stay near the town of Montepulciano, famous for its wine, leather goods and Tuscan craftsmanship.

This morning you will pick up your vehicle in Florence and make your way towards Greve in Chianti where we suggest you stop to have a look around the town which is famous for its statue in the central piazza and many artisan shops which carry leather goods, Tuscan ceramic work and many local hand made products.
Following Greve, continue along the winding road until you reach the incredible Montagliari farm where Davide or his wife will be waiting to show you their enormous wine cellar, olive oil production facilities and their magnificent kitchens.
You may want to stay and have lunch after the various wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings, and be ready for the lunch of your life! Otherwise carry on through the Chianti hamlets to Castellina in Chianti.

Today we recommend you drive from Castellina in Chianti to one of the most ancient towns in Tuscany, Volterra.
Volterra is one of the highest situated towns in Tuscany and offers incredible views over the countryside. On a clear day, you can even see the coast.
Following Volterra you will return along one of the prettiest roads in Tuscany to the town of San Gimignano which is known as the Manhattan of Tuscany and offers fantastic shopping and wonderful sightseeing opportunities.
Following San Gimignano you can explore the surrounding countryside or opt to return to the Villa Casalecchi to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool.
