This 5 day tour commences in Athens and takes you through the Boeotia region to the traditional village of Arachova, where you will then arrive at Delphi. From that point on the tour includes the astonishing Meteora Monasteries, and as you wind your way north through Greece, you will be amazed by its mountains, fertile valleys and agriculture. The stunning and very chic and vibrant city of Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, welcomes you to the exquisite Byzantine Empire with its art and treasures. Travel through Macedonia to Edesa with its famous waterfalls, Naoussa with Aristotle's School where the great philosopher taught "the doctrines of morals and politics" to Alexander the Great. A major highlight of the trip includes a visit to the small village of Vergina, made famous for one of the greatest archaeological remains found buried under the village farms in the 1970's, the Royal Tombs of Makedonia, where the tomb of King Phillip II, Alexander's father's tomb was found intact. The tombs and museum are a state of the art underground complex that will amaze you with the King's gold trinkets, shield and sword intact. The tour includes a stop to biblical Veria, to the Bema of Saint Paul. There will also be a short stop at the Jewish neighbourhood of Barbouta. Finally you will be taken to Pella, with Alexander the Great's palace. On the return to Athens you will stop to enjoy Mount Olympus, home of the 12 Greek Gods in mythology at the Temple of Dion and enjoy a stop at the Thermopylae at the Leonidas Monument remembering the 300 Spartan soldiers.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then be taken away for a short one and a half hour drive to Edessa, with its famous waterfall landmark. You will then be taken to Vergina for one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in modern day history, the Royal Tombs of Makedonia.
