For nearly forty years the Despotiko Hotel has been welcoming guests to Mykonos. The hotel is a much loved favourite amongst regular visitors to the beautiful island. Elegant and boutique in character, it still retains many original elements of its former use as a bishop’s residence, while of course offering the visitor every modern comfort. The Despotiko Hotel is still run by the same island family that opened it all those years ago.
The tastefully decorated rooms are available with views over the beautiful bay, the rooftops of Mykonos Town, or the relaxing courtyard, with its swimming pool and garden. Guests can enjoy a rich buffet-style breakfast served in a part of the hotel that was once the “despotiko”, which means “the bishop's house”, a 200 year old mansion, from which the hotel takes its name.
The hotel is located only a short walk from Mykonos town, with its large selection of shops, restaurants and world famous nightlife. Regular buses run from a stop close to the hotel to all parts of the island, including its many sandy beaches.
